Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Abandonment

I've recently deployed to Iraq and my ex-wife and her ethically questionable attorney has chosen to take advantage of my absence. They are threatening to file abandonment ''charges'' (?) with the court and are going to request that my visitation be suspended. They have also stated that they will be filing emergency orders to modify custody and child support. What can I do to not have my daughter taken from me and not have every dime I make, given back to him? I'm deathly afraid of what may come and have little funds to combat her attorney... What can I do???

Re: Abandonment

Listen, judges are more and more sensitive to deployment issues. Don't let her take advantage of you. there is no such thing as abandonment. This is not the time to NOT ask friends and family for help. Make sure you have representation. NO one is going to take your child away. If she knew you were going and filed something you still have the right to respond. Make sure you do.
