Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
Back Owed Child Support Trying to Make it Right Without going to Jail
I need a lawyer to help me in court so I can get my back child support straightened out. The court has me paying 1600$ a month I was laid off 2 weeks after I went to court. I wasn't making enough to pay so I have back child support and I can't mentally deal with it myself so I put it off. I want nothing more than to make things right. I go to court and they make me feel like an degenerate person. I have a problem defending my self being put on the stand in front of a judge and my ex's lawyer. I can't afford a lawyer and I don't know how to feel out the paper work so it just keeps getting put off and I am getting deeper in debt and closer to going to jail. I have done 5 weekendes in jail. I pay money but nothing to close to what they are asking. I have 2 other child who were takin from there mother and put and foster homes and they are asking me to pay the foster parents and I am suppose to go to court March 1st. In North Dakota and it is impossible. I want my childrem with me not in a foster care. Thank You for your time.

Re: Back Owed Child Support Trying to Make it Right Without going to Jail
First and foremost if your childsupport is toooo high you might want to modify it. In Arizona childsupport is generally not retro actively modifiable . Secondly, I understand you can not afford an attorney, however you might want to consider spending a little money and have a consolation with one. The information and advise might help you a lot. Good luck
