Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
After beginning a legal separation in Arizona, is it possible to change course to a divorce without losing the official "start date" when my spouse was served the separation petition? In other words, if I serve a petition for dissolution before the separation is settled will it re-start the clock on our financial separation?

If you have already filed for legal separation, you can serve a petition for dissolution without "restarting" the clock on the financial separation. Filing for a dissolution of marriage can be difficult to navigate, so I recommend that you speak with an attorney regarding your case. Please feel free to contact the firm so we can set up an initial consultation with one of our attorneys.
