big sister

My little sister is 18 years old and 3mo pregnant, the father is abusive with a record and holds no job. She works multiple jobs and her name is on the lease, legally what can i do to replace and take over his responsibilities with the child? adoption? file for custody with her?

You can either 1) adopt the child from both of them with their consent or 2) you can file a lawsuit against the two of them alleging that they have abused, neglected, or abandoned the child, and therefore you should have custody.

The law doesn't allow for you to jointly have custody with your sister.
