Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
My boyfriend and I had a child and now he wants me to move out but I have no where else to stay except to go home to Kansas. We are in Arizona but my residency is still in Kansas? Can I leave the state without his permission? We have never been to court and no custody has ever been established but he is on the birth certificate.

This is something that you have to discuss in more detail with an attorney. Hard to answer this kind of question on here. If you would like, feel free to call my office to schedule a meeting.

If you are not married, there are no rules which prevent you from relocating back home. However, it is best to discuss the implications of leaving with an expereined attorney. Will he file for court orders once you leave? Do you intend to take legal steps to establish his support obligations?
We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options for relocating before or after you leave. This is obviously a very important matter, and you should not go in alone.
One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.
Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
