cease and desist

Hi i am 22 my ex girlfriend whom I have been in contact with only via chat and only bec she claims she is pregnant and will give birth to my child come july 08 has filled a restraining order against me, she states i punched her on stomach and threw a plate on her head in dec of 07 and is just now filing a restraining order, of course i had never done this bef and am quite upset by this defamation of character and would like to know how do i proceed the appeal? what lawyer should i seek? which court house?

Did you already have the order of protection hearing? What happened at the hearing? You should have been given adequate notice of the hearing so that you could defend yourself. If not, you may have a remedy for that. You could also file a civil suit for defamation of character if in fact what she is saying is not the truth. The Court house would depend on where you live.
