Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
I am the child of a divorced family. For most of my childhood I have had a very involved, loving stepmother, in addition to two loving biological parents. Now that I am an adult and living independently, I have begun to wonder if there is any way to be legally adopted by my stepmom, without terminating the rights of either of my parents. Will the state of Arizona recognize a parent-child relationship between an adult child and three, or four parents, if all have served as day-to-day parental figures in her childhood?

I am sorry to say that I do not believe our statutes contemplate adoption for anything other than one parent of each gender.
BUT, I am always willing to try to be creative. If you would like to attempt to be creative and see if we can do it, I would be willing.
Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your matter.
