Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
child support arrearages
I owe child support arrearages for one child, his mother wants to move in with me again. So we can be together for the child's sake. I'm wondering if I'm still going to be responsible for the past arrearages. In case we split up again in the future, thanks--name removed--

Re: child support arrearages
You will absolutely still be liable, unless she signs an appropriate agreement waiving your past
responsibility.
Also, if there is an ongoing obligation, that amount technically still accrues, even while you live together. I would advise a formal agreement stopping support while the two of you
are living together and jointly providing for the childs needs.
I can explain the issues and procedures better by phone or in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via e'mail. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail.
Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your case, or contact my assistant Alicia to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation.
