Child Support

In Az would a father have to pay child support to a son he never knew about. I live in Pa he lives in Az he is 8 months old. Mother just filed this case against me and I never knew she was pregangt she just stopped taking my calls. If I sign over parental rights do i still have to pay child support

If you have no contacts in Arizona, then Arizona has no ability to enter Orders against you. She would have to initiate in PA. However, yes, Arizona law does allow child support to be ordered even if you did not know about the child, IF it is proven you are the Father.

You cannot avoid support Orders by signing over your rights, unless Mom is willing to AGREE to waive child support. This is a very tricky agreement, and must be handled carefully.
