Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
Child support modification
I wanted to know if I should file for a child support modification. My situation is this, my exwife received 2 payments of support and than called my job and managed to get me fired. I work in a very small industry and word got out and I am now a liability. With the down economy I can not find a job in any market nor in the industry that I have been a part of for 20 years and now have been black balled from, thanks to her. I can not afford to pay child support, and I am at a loss of what to do. Should I hire an attorney or should I try to get the modification on my on through child support enforcement agency. I have evidence (her own written words) that all she wants is me in jail and she is making every effort to make sure that happens. Also, is there anything that can be done about the arrearage as 2000 a month has been adding up for nearly 3 years now.

Re: Child support modification
Most definitely I would apply for a child support modification. I'm not even sure you need an attorney to accomplish that. I would think the arrearages might also be forgiven or at least put on hold until you find another job. As for her maligning your character you could file a suit for defamation, especially since you suffered economically because of it. Good luck!
