Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Child Support and Social Security

I will be getting Social Security this March. I am paying child support to two minor children. They will also be getting a check each month from Social Security until they are 18. How does child support and social security benefits to them effect each other? Would my child support be lowered because of them receiving Social Security checks each month? What further steps should I take? How does Social Security minor benefits and child support fit in with each other?

Re: Child Support and Social Security

Yes there child support should be lowered but the court does not get this information. The onus is on you to file a modification request based on these changes.
