I have a child out of wedlock what rights does the father have in the state of arizona?

The only difference between having a child while married and not is that if you are married your husband's name would go on the birth certificate (unless of course someone admitted it wasn't his child or a paternity test was done). If you're not married, no father's name is going to go automatically onto the birth certificate, just the mother's (it's pretty hard not to prove who the mother is when you have just given birth). You can ask a court to establish paternity, say if you want to start receiving child support, and he can also ask a court to establish paternity, say so he can have visitation with the child. Until he takes legal steps to establish his rights, he has none. However, it is sometimes still very important to allow access, since an unreaosnable refusal of access can be used against you in later proceedings.
