Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
I have two children 7 and 5. The mother of my children is all the sudden decided she wants to move to Illinoise and take my children from here in Arizona. We have no custody arangements with the kids, so I was wondering what I need to do to stop her from taking them away from me?

If you are not married and have no court orders, the only thing you can do is file an action with the court and request an accelerated hearing regarding temporary parenting time so the court can determine whether it is in your children's best interests to relocate temporarily while the case is being decided.
You must file a Petition to Prevent Relocation. If you have been involved, then it should be quite difficult for her to get permission to take the children.
We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options. This is obviously a very important matter, and you should not go in alone.
One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.
Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
