Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Can I close a child support case? My son's father is in prison and is being deported after he is released. I just received a court order making me 100% responsible for my child's care which I have always done. Now they are obligating me to get health insurance for my son and I don't have the money to do it. I would rather just pay his Dr. visits whenever he needs it. Is there something I could do?

Thank you

You're asking a couple of different questions here. One is about whether you can close a child support case. Yes, I couldn't see why not. Just provide the court with the documentation regarding the child's father and your personal obligation. The other is about health insurance. If the court ordered it, you will have to ask the court to permission to be excused for inability to pay. Otherwise you will have to get health insurance. They probably allow for a waiver if you have or are eligible for ACCCHS.

Good luck!
