Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

I am court ordered to pay 64% of childcare expenses for my 8 year old child. Her mother has been terminated from her job and because she "does not want our child to know" she is not working, she continues to drop her off at daycare every morning and they also pick her up every afternoon after school. I was under the impression that paying for childcare was for "working" parents, not those who sit at home collecting unemployment. Do I need to continue paying this expense while my ex-wife is not working?

NO.

You could/should file a Petition to Modify. BUT, it may be important to "run the numbers" first to insure a modification is worthwhile. OR, if your Petition SEPARATES childcare payments from child support, you may be able to just stop paying. I WOULD NEED TO REVIEW YOUR COURT ORDERS.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.
