Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
Do you have to go to court when requesting a child support modification
2 Answers from Attorneys
Not necessarily. Depends on whether the other parent is in agreement. You may be able to file a consent modification with the court and get an order without having any court hearings. Otherwise you will have to petition the court for a child support modification and likely go to trial or other court hearings.
Only if the issue is "contested". If there is an agreement, or if the othr side will not contest, it can be handled quikly and without a Court appearance.
We can certainly help.
