Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Coustody

I'm married and my wife is pregnet with another mans. Child. If my wife and I stay together and we put my name as the father, on the birth certificate. Does the man that got her pregnet have an leagly right to the child? And if so what are they? Dose he realistioly have a chance at full coustody, partial coustody? Or can we live with out having to worry about having this guy show up and taking the baby or throwing a big wrench in an already complicated situation?

Re: Coustody

Follwoing are brief responses only. Please call my assistant, Cathy, to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation to discuss these issues in more detail.

1. The natural Father can still pursue rights of custody and access. His "chances" of course depend upon a variety of circumstances.

2. Unless he "signs away" his rights, or unless you pursue a "termination" of his rights, he would always have the ability to at some point show up. Of course, the longer he waits, the more difficult his task becomes.

I look forward to talking more if you so desire.

/s/ Rich J. Peters, Attorney.
