The answer depends on several things. Were you married and divorced with a child support order?. That would be a vested judgment in favor of collecting child support arrears. If you were not married, was paternity established through the court with an order for child support? That order would be vested judgment in favor of collecting arrears. If paternity was never established, you would be limited to collect child support for the 3 year period before filing a petition to establish paternity. Without knowing your circumstances, I cannot provide you with any clearer answer. I suggest that you call Stephanie Coulter of this office at 602 462 1004 so that I can learn the facts.
Has she graduated high school? If not, we may be able to pursue him for current support and for 3 years past. BUT, I am concerned as to whether Arizona has jurisdiction and would need to know more.
We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.
