Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

I would like to know my daughters chances of getting emancipated should she pursue this option. My daughter lives in Arizona with her grandparents because the family situation at home is not the greatest (a restraining order against her father, threats made, buying of a gun permit and a gun, her father being verbally abusive, etc.) My daughter is 16 (will be 17 in 4 months), she is a high school graduate, has a job, her own bank account, and beginning college. She pays for transportation (about $100 a month) and agreed that if she was to get emancipated would buy her own health insurance (since she is currently on ours). Her father and I have discussed this and want her to either get emancipated or when she turns 17 to join the reserves (we don't particularly want to be responsible for her actions). If she pursues emancipation, her father and I will consent, we will not object to it. What are her chances of getting approved for emancipation?

I think her chances are excellent. If you email me directly, I can email you a brochure prepared by the Court on emancipation.

We can certainly help her consider and then pursue her options for emancipation.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
