Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

my daughters father is not on her birth certificate...someone else is. i was told my first step towards getting child support from her father is to prove that the man on the birth certificate is not her father and to prove that the other man is her father. ive completed one of these steps..i have proved that the man on the birth certificate is not the father. however, her real father refuses to take a dna test and wants nothing to do with her or me. now my question is what can i do from this point? ive been told i need to get a court ordered dna test but i dont know how to go about doing that or if thats even what i need to do...

You need to file a Complaint in Paternity against the real Father. He will be FORCED to appear and respond. If he chooses not to, then the Court will order child support by default.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gloria or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation
