Re: DES going for back child support

That appears to indicate that an Order HAS been entered establishing paternity and child support.

If this concerns you, or for more questions, please know that I can explain the issues and procedures better by phone or in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via e'mail. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail.

Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your case, or contact my assistant Alicia or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation.

Re: DES going for back child support

You should contact your child support caseworker or request that the Attorney General who handled the case contact you. You should, also, ask them about paternity because normally paternity is established first, then an order for child support is entered. Did dad voluntarily acknowledge paternity at the hospital or in writing with documents filed through the Hospital Paternity Program? Your caseworker or customer service rep. should be able to check on the computer for the information in you case. See http://www.de.state.az.us/dcse/ and choose the appropriate subpage for your local office contact information. They can help you more quickly if you have your ATLAS # ready when you call. Be sure they have your current address, so you can receive all documents. Good Luck
