Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Discrimination

Can I report and judge for discrimination against me and can I also report my lawyer for not representing me in my interest? Also, can I appeal a decree after it has been signed?

Re: Discrimination

Your questions regarding the Judge and the attorney are better directed to the State Bar. Those are not issues I would want to get involved with.

Regarding your Decree, it can be modified under certain circumstances. Child support and custody/access can usually be modified based upon a significant and continuing change in circumstances. Spousal Maintenance can be modified based upon a significant and continuing change in circumstancesuness unless you agreed that it would be non-modifiable.

Property and debts issues usually cannot be modified, except under arguments of fraud, duress, or other special circumstances. I have in the past attempted to have a Decree modified based upon an argument that my client's prior attorney was "ineffective". This argument was unsuccessful, and would in all cases be very difficult to pursue under the approcah Arizona cases have taken.

I can explain the law better by phone or in person. There is too much to cover via e'mail. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail.

Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your case, or contact my assistant Cathy to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation. I look forward to talking with you.
