Dismissing a Protective Order

What happens to person if they can't be served a protective order written against them? What is the time frame? How does a plaintiff get a dismissal on a protective order?

Re: Dismissing a Protective Order

Thank you for your inquiry.

An OOP is not valid until it is served, and then it is valid for a year.

The plaintiff can drop an OOP by going back to court (the same procedure by which the OOP was obtained in the first place) and asking the judge to quash it.
