Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

In my divorce decree debt is shared 50/50 how do I split the accounts so I am not having to pay all of it and then taking my ex to small claims to recoup the portion that is his responsibility. Some creditors are telling me that they will not seperate the debt to make each person responsible for their own share.

You could file a "Motion for Clarification" or something similar asking the Court to assign specific debts to you and specific debts to HIM.

Even then, though, if he does not pay, and you choose to pay in order to protect your credit or because they are pursuing you, you will have no choice but to then seek reimbursement from him.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
