Re: divorce procedures

Thank you for your inquiry.

Your wife should have mailed the Response to you, but if she didn't (and if you don't feel that it would be appropriate to ask her for a copy), you can get a copy at the courthouse where the case was filed.

At this point, the parties (or their attorneys) should consider trying to settle the case, and should be gathering information from the other party and providing information to the other party.

The court usually does not get involved unless one of you initiates court action (e.g. requesting mediation, child support calculation, temporary orders hearing, etc.). If you both do nothing, you will eventually be notified that you are both to appear at a DCM conference where a conference officer will help you identify the disputed issues and set some deadlines for moving the case forward. This person is not a judge, and will not make any decisions about your case, so this is not the time to try to present any evidence.

If you would like to discuss this matter in greater detail, please feel free to contact me. I can be reached at (480) 792-9770 or [email protected]. I offer a one-hour consultation for $60.

Sincerely,

Monica H. Donaldson, Esq.
