Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

family law and child support

I was awarded sole custody and child support in September 2008. The father was awarded visitation every other weekend. I have not received any child support and the father has only had visitation four times. He comes up with excuses to why he cannot have the children. How do I go about receiving child support? What do I do about him not showing up and upsetting the children because they expect him to show up?

Re: family law and child support

Well, sadly the court cannot force him to take parenting time but they can sure force him to pay his child support. I would strongly suggest you keep a calendar. I also suggest you get an enforcement action filed against him to ensure he fulfills his financial responsibility to the children. That money is for them, not you. He needs to be reminded of that.

Please let me know if there is anything we can do to assist you.
