Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
is it possible for a father who wants to give up his rights of his children and appoint me (The boyfriend of the mother) the legal father, also how would I go about adoption the children?

Any parent can voluntarily surrender their parental rights and responsibilities. However, that person cannot "appoint" someone as their fill-in parent. However, you could file a motion for temporary guardianship and ultimately adoption at the same time that father is leaving the picture.

Good luck,
Although a biological father can consent to someone adopting the child, you would not be able to apply to adopt your girlfriend's child until you had been married to her for a year. In other words, you can adopt as a step-parent (so that you and the mother would then be the child's legal parents).
