Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

A fathers rights to force a paternity test

I had an affair with a married woman in California. Since then she has moved to Arizona. She is now about nine months pregnant and although she had at first agreed to allow a paternity test once the child is born she is now saying she will not allow it. I want to know if this is my child and what rights I have to force her into a paternity test.

Re: A fathers rights to force a paternity test

You absolutely have the right to seek a paternity test, but must file a "Complaint in Paternity" to do so.

Then, if you are the Father, you will have rights and responsibilities. If you are not the father, the matter would be dismissed.

I can explain the procedures better by phone or in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via e'mail. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail.

Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your case, or contact my assistant Alicia to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation.
