File for default

I just filed for divorce with children.I have confirmation of delivery from my husband.How long before I can file for default if he does not respond.I was told wait 30 days after signature confirmation.Then file the acceptance of signature wait 10 days and them file for default if he does not respond to the summons.

you only have to wait 20 days for him to respond. then you file the application for default, sending him a copy. Wait 14 days(10 plus 4 for mailing) to respond to that. if he does not respond then you can simply go online and get a hearing date. no need to provide him notice of the hearing date. Good luck.
