Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

how to find? Bygamist

I recently married a woman I met on the internet, She lived in Pheonix Az. She was supposed to come for a 1 week visit but stayed and pressured me into marriage. She talked me into putting her name on p/u and then left 25 days after we were married. She took p/u saddles and misc stuff. Her brother said she was still married , how do I find out so I can get annulment? Also she was in a mental institution can I find out where?

Re: how to find? Bygamist

If she was married in Arizona, you (or a representative) could seek a copy of her marriage certificate from the Court Records facility. I am assuming other states also keep copies of such.

However, if she is married, there is no need to "annul" the marriage. Under Arizona law, if she was already married, it was as if the 2nd marriage never even took place. If you want a Court order simply making t clear that the second marriage was invalid, I can explain the procedures better by phone or in person. There is too much to cover via e'mail. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail.

Regarding finding out where she was institutionalized, the only method I know of is to "discover" (or subpoena) the information directly from her. You would need a pending Court matter to do so. Even then, though, a Court may restrict your right to gain that information (depending upon your purpose in seeking such).

Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your case, or contact my assistant Cathy to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation. I look forward to talking with you.
