If you were married out of state then you don't have a covenant marriage. It is is a special kind of marriage offered in Arizona creating essentially a contract between the parties. It causes you to have to have counseling before divorce unless certain factors like domestic violence exist. This won't apply to you.

I would strongly suggest someone drafting the documents for you. My paralegal Tracy is great and his costs are minimal. It's worth having it done and have peace of mind over it. Feel free to give us a call.

If you had a covenant marriage, you would know. You would have had to take premarital counseling, and your marriage licesne would indicate so. I expect that you do not have a covenant marriage.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your divorce options.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.
