Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
My friend is going through a custody battle with her parents over her baby girl, the parents are very well off , and hired a lawyer that is best friends with the Judge for the case, a lawyer that fills in for the judge from time to time, The is no documented evidence of the reasons her parents are using to take the child, besides a short stay in a mental health hospital over 10 years ago, this whole thing started when CPS advised my friend that she had a problem with her father being around the child, But the CPS officer was not allowed to testify in court. I feel she is getting railroaded . What can be done?

First of all, if the judge is "best friends" with the lawyer, both the judge and the lawyer would be ethically bound to ensure the lawyer does not appear in front of that judge. So, it may feel like this is so but it's likely not so.
THe best advice I can provide is that your friend at least consults with a good lawyer to make sure he or she knows all options available.
