Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
I was in a gay relationship for 5 years. My partner left the relationship over a year ago. The house I currently live in is in her name. However, for the last 3 months we/she have not made the payments because she has decided to give the house back to the bank. We had a verbal agreement that I could stay in the house until it was financially feasible for me to afford a place. We also had a verbal agreement that I would take the dogs and cats. I know this may sound trivial but now she is threatening to come and take one of the dogs. I have taken care of all the animals, along with food medical care etc. What recourse do I have to keep her out of the house and from coming by to take my baby? She has not lived in the house for a year and has changed her address to her new house.

Actually this is right up my alley. I focus heavily on animal law. And it is nothing trivial, especially if you do not have any children as is often the case with same-sex couples. You could have a court award you the "property" (sadly animals are still considered personal property) of this canine if you can prove that you paid for all or the majority of its care, provided all of the majority of its care, etc. You probably cannot keep her out of the house, unless you are worried for your safety or that of another, then you could get a restraining order. But you should be able to keep her from taking the dog based on the argument just mentioned.
Best of luck to you!
