Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

If me and my ex girlfriend have a 5 year old son together and she lived with me 4 out of those 5 years (including some of the pregnancy), can she file back child support on me for all 5 years? She has the child with her in Arizona now, but we do switch him off about every 2 months because of the commute from California. She lived with me on my family's property (rent and bill free) for those 4 years as well.

Arizona law would allow her to go back for 3 years. BUT, no child support should be owed for those times that you were living together.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options for defending her claims. This is obviously a very important matter, and you should not go in alone.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Alicia or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
