Thank you for your inquiry. The guardianship process is not complicated, though it is much easier to explain in person rather than by email.
We offer a free 30-minute initial consultation. All scheduling is done centrally through our front office, so please contact our office (480.792.9770) to schedule a time to meet with Attorney Kristy Blackwell regarding the details of your situation.
Without Father's consent, the Aunt cannot receive legal custody OR guardianship. You can grant her a "Parental Delegation of Authority", which simply gives her the right to care for your child while you are away. BUT, once Dad knows, he can certainly take steps to gain custody of the child either temporarily or permanently.
We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.
One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.
Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gloria or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation
