Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

If a husband is an Arizona resident and he files for divorce here and then his wife, a South Carolina resident, tells him it's too late she filed for separation in South Carolina. How do you determine which state's laws will take presidence? Is there anyway to find out if she really filed anything in South Carolina?

This would be a choice-of-law question. South Carolina could handle the matter or Arizona could; they would have to battle it out. You should be able to check with the courts in SC to see if anything was filed. If so, I would not file anything in Arizona as it will get too confusing.
