Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

if my husband filed legal separation papers, it states I have twenty days to respond. I have not signed to anything and if I don't respond within that time frame, will it mean a default judgement and his wishes on his separation papers will be granted regardless if I sign to anything?

If you do not file a Response within the 20 day timeframe, the court can grant a default judgment which means that he will get what he asked for in his Petition, and you won't have a chance to be heard on any of the issues. Even if you do agree with everything in his Petition, it is still a good idea to file a Response so you have the opportunity to participate in the finalizing of the case. You should speak with an attorney to determine your options.
