In order to not default, he must file an Answer to the Paternity Complaint. There are forms and instructions available at www.superiorcourt.maricopa.gov, self-service center, forms, family law forms. He should also speak with an attorney as soon as possible to discuss his options as well as his rights and obligations if he is, in fact, the biological father of the child.

He must file a response in order to avoid a default. If you do not want to do it through the self service forms, but cannot afford an attorney, feel free to give me a call and I can give you some information on using a paralegal.

If there is another attorney involved, give him or her a call but be careful about "trusting" him or her too much. Get everything in writing. If paternity is an issue, then ensure you have a paternity test as well.

He MUST file a response.

We can certainly help.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via e'mail. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gloria or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation
