Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

An individual I was living with at the time of my daughter's birth wanted to claim paternity (even though there were doubts) and a child support order was later established. He then proceeded to use this to financially abuse myself and my children and lived with us for 4 years after (and 1 year before) the child's birth. I severed contact with him and no longer wished to receive child support but the order remained in place. I've had no contact with him for the past 8 years and would like to see if I can get him to relinquish any parental rights he may have acquired by claiming paternity. He may be willing to do this. What is the cheapest and simplest way to go about requesting that he voluntarily waive his "rights" as a parent to my child who he does not support?

You would need for him to sign off his parental rights and file a petition to terminate the same.

We could have him sign a simple "Consent to Termination fo arental Rights". That form would be the most simple and least expensive. However, to ever get formal orders terminating hgis rights, you would need ot take additional steps. it may be never necessary to do so, but we would need to discuss.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.
