Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

joint custody

I am the custodial parent and I would like to share joint custody of our children with the father. We were never married, but I do recieve child support. I just would like to know what forms I would need to file to do this. Thank you.

Re: joint custody

Thank you for your inquiry.

If there is already a custody order in place, you would file a Request to Modify, then you and the father can file a stipulated judgment letting the judge know that this is an uncontested modification.

If there is not already a custody order in place, you would file a "Request to Establish First Court Order," after which you would still file the stipulated judgment to finalize the order. This takes a bit longer, as the court has a mandatory 60 day waiting period before the initial request and the final court order.

If I can be of additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Monica Donaldson
