Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Joint custody shared expences

My ex currently has our daughter 3 days/wk and our son 2. He has them weekdays when he is off work. He does not take them on weekends. When my daughter is to be in his care he drops her off at my house before and after school until he picks her up. And has without my consent had her come to my house on his day so that I would take her to school functions. This puts a huge burden on me, as I still have the expenses associated with her being in my home. I have told him that it is not acceptable, that she is in his care. He retained a lawyer to fight me on the child support amount of 460.00 and is trying to lower it to 310.00. I do not have the money to retain a lawyer. It is not stated in the original decree who pays for things like school supplies, the cell phone I pay for (because her dad has no home #) hair cuts, clothes, shoes, ect. I pay for daycare for my son because I work during the week. He doesn't have this expense either. I pay for all of this. Even when asked he does not help with these purchases. He makes 1000.00 month more than myself. In daycare alone I spend 300.00, plus all of the addition costs listed. How can this be fair? Is he required to pay for any of these things? If it is dropped, I will not be able to survi

Re: Joint custody shared expences

It seems to me you would have some arguments to INCREASE child support, much less arguments against dropping it. But I truly would need to take you through a child support calculation to be sure.

I can explain the issues better by phone or in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via e'mail. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail.

Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your case, or contact my assistant Jennifer to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation. I look forward to talking with you.
