Leaving Alcoholic Husband

WE moved to AZ. (from Washington State) with my husband's parents/family as he was getting into alot of legal trouble with drinking. He lost his drivers license due to 2 DUIs, hit and run, and reckless driving. In one of those events, he hit another car and the driver was injured.

We thought he would straighten up after all and the birth of our 2 childern, but to no avail as we have lived in Az. for almost 2 years (have been married 7 months)and he is still drinking and driving.

When I try to talk to him about his problem, he flys into a rage and often throws things, yells insults and hits the walls.

I have tryed to leave before but he has disabled my car by removing the spark plugs,spark plug wires and other parts of the engine.

We have also done marriage counseling but he still drank.

I want him to get help and I can only think of ''tough love'' by leaving and letting him hit bottom.

What legal rights do I have as I want what is best for the boys and I. I would like to move back to Wa. state to be with my family.

You have the right to file here, and seek permission to return to Washington. You also have the right to simply go to Washington, but there are repercussions to that step which I would want to discuss with you first.

Most of all, you have the right to protect yourself and your children.
