Is it legal to get a minor child treated by a psychologist without both parents consent if there is a joint custody order in place?

I would consider that a violation of a Joint Custody Order. I would expect if you alerted the psychologist that the parents had Joint Legal Custody, and that you did not consent, he or she would cease their efforts. BUT, your doing so may not necessarily be in the child's best interests, so you really must consider all of the issues.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options in this matter.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
