Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
I'm married and we have a 2 year daughter. Since October we no longer live together and I filed for a Legal Separation last month. He has our daughter 2 days a week as we verbally agreed but is now trying to fight for full custody. When I spoke to his mom about the matter I found out that he was sexually molested by his father when he was younger and before he was 18 there was a couple of inappropriate situations that occurred which he was involved in. At the moment we have no legal visitations set by the court or judge. Now that I know about his past should I continue to allow him to have our daughter 2 days a week or should I wait to present my case to a judge.
1 Answer from Attorneys
YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN KNOW what is currently in your child's best interests. As an attorney, I cannot make that kind of decision for you. I can only help you move forward quickly if you believe such is necessary.
IF YOU BELIEVE HE IS A DANGER TO HER, YOU CAN AND SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE STEPS.
We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options. This is obviously a very important matter, and you should not go in alone.
One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.
Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
