Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
I have been married for over three years and I have had it. I am sick of the name calling, the abuse and everything else. I just want out! I have an infant daughter and need to protect her as well as myself now. I know the best idea is to retain a lawyer however it's been years since I have needed an attorney. What is the going rate per hour for an attorney and what kind of money do I need to come up with for a retainer? Does anyone take payments now days?

I agree the best thing to do is consider hiring a lawyer. You may not need to but you should start with a good education-a consultation. Depending on how experienced you desire your lawyer to be, that will affect the hourly rate. For example, I have been licensed to practice law since 1993 and my rate is $275 per hour. It's a little lower than others of my experience because my overhead is a little lower(my husband is my paralegal so we can work with his fees). Advanced Fees/Retainers also change depending on the issues. My office takes between $3000 and $5000 depending on the issues. I have an associate who works for me and her hourly rate is $175. Clearly the fee would last longer with her.
So feel free to call my office. If you want, check out my website www.singinglawyeraz.com or go to www.lawyerratingz.com and look at top rated lawyers.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.
We have three attorneys. We charge from $220 per hour to $250 per hour. Our retainers can run as low as $500 for demand letters/phone calls, $1200 plus costs for uncontested matters, or from $2,000 to $4,000 for most contested matters.
We also can structure assistance to help you represent yourself if your prefer.
Please remember that a retainer is just a prepayment of time, and is not an estimate as to the total costs of the matter. If I finish within the retainer, than I refund any unearned amounts.
One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.
Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gloria or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation
