Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

modification of child support amount

I received a judgment 3 months ago for child support in which my wife has not paid at all. I just received a request for modification of child support from my ex-wife to lower the amount. Can she do this and how do I stop this without having to go to court?

Re: modification of child support amount

you cannot stop it from going to court unless you 2 reach some kind of written agreement and file it with the court.

She cannot modify the judgment but she can move to modify child support going forward.

Re: modification of child support amount

You could file a Motion to Dismiss if you believe things have not changed in the 3 month period.

We can absolutely help.

I can explain the procedures better by phone or in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via e'mail. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail.

Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your case, or contact my assistant Alicia or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation.
