Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

modified support

My expenses for my son have decreased now that he is public school all day. My ex is self employed. If we both agree to a modified amount and submit the child support worksheet with income and expense information, will the court honor the agreement? Our son lives we me a majority of the time but is with his dad about 42% of the time so daily expenses are about equal.

Re: modified support

Thank you for your inquiry. Generally speaking, as long as your agreement is in the appropriate format, the court will accept it. If the amount you agree to is different than what the worksheet calculates, you will need to explain to the court the reasons for deviation; however, if you go along with the worksheet, there is no reason to believe the court won't adopt it.
