Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
If mother is in the army, and is on the other side of the world, but before leaving she filed a divorce. Can the father get any legal documents on his daughter? Because my brothers situation is like this. His mother in law wont lend/give him any legal papers of the child, while he takes her out. She says that she was told not to give/lend him any papers, can she do that? I mean after all he is the legal father, last week a cop stopped him, and he wasnt able t provide proof that his baby was a U.S citizen, what if he gets stopped again, what can he prove to them that she is if he is not given any documents to prove that the child is a U.S citizen?

If he is the Father, named on the birth certificate, than he can go to ANY vital records office and get a duplicate copy of the child's birth certificate. He also has the right to retain primary custody of the child, even over Grandmother. BUT, he must act quickly.
If they were never married, then he needs to file a Paternity action in order to obtain his rights as the parent.
We can certainly help him consider and then pursue his options.
