Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Moving 2800 miles away

I share joint custody of my 9 year old daughter with my former boyfriend. Right now our realationship is very amicable. I am a teacher so for financial reasons and family support, I would like to move back to my home state. How do I handle this legally with my former partner? Thank you.

Re: Moving 2800 miles away

We have a specific relocation statute that you must follow. Courts heavily prefer not to allow relocation but it does not mean you cannot do it. It will just be a heavy burden on you to get there. Please call my office and I will be happy to sit down with you and discuss the details of A.R.S. 25-408.
