Non married parental rights
My daughter is nine months pregrant due any time she is not married to the father of the child and he basically has not been there for her through this pregancy other then going to two dr.'s appts my daughter has spent he entire savings buying everything for what this baby needs he in turn has spent nothing. My daughter decided to name the baby after a dying relative not giving the baby the father's last name, he is now threathing to get an attorney to make her give the baby his last name can this be done? She has told him latter on if he becomes active in the baby's life he can have his name added to the birth certificate. We need any answere asp. Thank you

If he were to force the issue, most Judges would allow the baby's last name to include the Father's last name, even if it were just hyphenated. Your daughter also certainly can, and should, ask that Father contribute to the support of the child.
